TasTAFE is Tasmania’s largest registered vocational education and training provider and has a long history of supporting learners in achieving their career goals. Our Drysdale Centre of Excellence has campuses in Hobart, Launceston, and Devonport. The Centres provide a range of specialist training, including tourism, cookery and hospitality, as well as tour guiding qualifications. They include barista training rooms, licensed bars, and commercial kitchens equipped to train our cookery, bakery, and patisserie learners. We have butchery at the Hobart campus and Training Centre at Claremont also includes hotel room facilities for housekeeping training.
The Drysdale Campuses are set up to equip learners with the hands-on practical experience they need to be successful in their future career. Drysdale Hobart and Launceston are also home to our training restaurants, which are the training ground for Tasmania’s future chefs and hospitality staff. They allow our cookery and hospitality students to undertake practical training in a commercial kitchen and restaurant, preparing and serving a range of high-quality food and beverages directly to patrons. Across TasTAFE, we can offer a range of courses across many industry sectors, combining flexible delivery options with over 200 nationally recognised and industry-endorsed qualifications from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma level, as well as short courses and skill sets. These qualifications and short courses are developed together with industry partners and are designed to meet industry needs. Our teachers are industry professionals and are keen to share their experience, skills and passion with the next generation of skilled workers
