Visit the home of Australia’s first black truffle The Truffle Farm, located at the foot of Tasmania’s Great Western Tiers, has become the country’s premium producer of exquisite black truffles and gourmet products. Their truffles lie in the cool, fertile earth, until they develop their full flavour and aroma, and are ready for harvest. Nurtured, and carefully grown in optimum conditions on the family farm in Deloraine, The Truffle farm produces both summer and winter truffles and as a result, are busy harvesting truffles across the summer, autumn and winter months (10 months of the year). Guests are guided through the story of how the family first grew truffles in Australia, and then invited into the plantation to actively hunt and dig for truffles with Anna and her beloved four-legged team - the truffle dogs. A truffle grading demonstration is then followed by our signature fresh truffle pizza or gourmet fresh truffle three-cheese toasted sourdough sandwich, and the truffle ice cream is sure to be a delight for dessert. Guests experience a tasting of our truffle products and are offered a selection of Tasmanian wine or beer.
